The Letterary Blog
Let the Beauty of what you LOVE be what you do! Rumi
I started out my lettering skills as a young girl writing names of my family members and friends. It gave me joy and made them happy to see their name written so beautifully. Next I moved on to positive words. Those too gave me pleasure in seeing how lovely I could make the word look. It was the best place to start for me. Once you get a hold of a calligraphy pen, write whatever comes into your mind first. Just write without thinking! Play and feel how the pen is able to move!

I actually stumbled upon your website while I was taking a break from writing a friend a real "pen and paper" letter. I too love typography and lettering but never had the time to actually do anything. I came across your blog and thought I'd just go back to the start and see what was in earlier subscriptions and when I clicked on this one I see the name "Nancy" written so beautifully and I just started bawling. See, my mom passed away on May 23, 2007 and her name was Nancy and her middle name was Carol, we were as close as close could be (I was her only child) and as you can imagine this time of year is really very hard for me as I also lost my dad on May 26, 2007 just days after losing my mom (they had been divorced for 30+ years) so after seeing this maybe this is a sign of some sort from them. Will most definitely keep following you from now on. Thank you for the beautiful "Nancy" ❤

HelloI love all lettering, always have, even as a young child. Lettering is beautiful and has a message all it's own. Lettering has always been ART to me. Archives
